چکیده

The universal Turing machine is an anticipatory theory of computability by any digital or quantum machine. However the Church-Turing hypothesis only gives weak anticipation. The construction of the quantum computer (unlike classical computing) requires theory with strong anticipation. Category theory provides the necessary coordinate-free mathematical language which is both constructive and non-local to subsume the various interpretations of quantum theory in one pullback/pushout Dolittle diagram. This diagram can be used to test and classify physical devices and proposed algorithms for weak or strong anticipation. Quantum Information Science is more than a merger of Church-Turing and quantum theories. It has constructively to bridge the non-local chasm between the weak anticipation of mathematics and the strong anticipation of physics.

On the Borchers Class of a Non-Commutative Field

In this paper, we arrive at the notion of equivalence classes of a non-commutative field exploring some ideas by Soloviev to nonlocal quantum fields. Specifically, an equivalence relation between non-commutative fields is formulated by replacing the weak relative locality condition by a weak relative asymptotic commutativity property, generalizing the notion of relative locality proved by Borch...

Minimum Quantum Resources for Strong Non-Locality

We analyse the minimum quantum resources needed to realise strong non-locality, as exemplified e.g. by the classical GHZ construction. It was already known that no two-qubit system, with any finite number of local measurements, can realise strong non-locality. For three-qubit systems, we show that strong non-locality can only be realised in the GHZ SLOCC class, and with equatorial measurements....

Is Quantum Mechanics Non-local?

Stapp has recently argued from a version of the Hardy type experiments that quantum mechanics must be non-local, independent of any additional assumptions like realism or hidden variables. I argue that his argument does include an additional assumption about the reality of certain counter-factual statements. In a recent paper [1] H. Stapp has argued that quantum mechanics is non-local. He bases...

A few connections between Quantum Computation and Quantum Non-Locality

Quantum mechanics enables some computational problems to be solved by quantum algorithms faster than any known classical algorithm. Is there a link between this and the other features of quantum mechanics that set it apart from classical theories? A dramatic example of such a feature is quantum non-locality. This report begins by reviewing the stabilizer formalism, an efficient way of doing som...

Quantum Computing and Relativity

Building a quantum computer can sometimes yield unexpected benefits — like providing the right environment to demonstrate that Albert Einstein's theory of special relativity is, in fact, correct. [7] While physicists are continually looking for ways to unify the theory of relativity, which describes large-scale phenomena, with quantum theory, which describes small-scale phenomena, computer scie...
